Hypertension Caused by Being Overweight

Obesity is a health condition which can have health complications like hypertension. Overeating and lack of exercise is the cause of being overweight which simply leads to obesity. Now to avoid being overweight, you should be responsible enough to give time in maintaining a healthy diet. Being overweight is still different to being obese, since an obese person only has little chances to lose weight but an overweight person have more opportunities to act on the problem. But still, you have higher chances to have diseases. Hypertension is one of the diseases which decrease life expectancy for adults.


Hypertension is caused by increased production of insulin and higher blood volume. It is also caused of thickening of the arteries and increased sodium levels. Too much intake of alcohol, smoke and vitamins deficiencies are also ways to increase the risks of having hypertension. When a person is eating too much calories and they don’t burn it by doing simple exercise, the fats will remain on their body which causes obesity. Being overweight can also make you prone to higher risks of having high blood pressure, chronic heart attack, stroke, diabetes and other health problems most especially if hereditary.

When you are an overweight person and you are always experiencing headaches, nausea and blurred vision, then you have hypertension. Common cases of people being hypertensive are experiencing symptoms most of the time. The best way to avoid hypertension is to lose weight and maintain normal weight for your height and age.    There are so many ways to lose weight, you can do diets, limit your meal, take diet pills, enroll to taebo, gym or aerobics class, or use weight loss programs. If you are aware that you are overweight, you should also have to take your blood pressure most of the time, record it and let the doctors evaluate it.

If you already gained the maximum weight, be responsible to lose weight to reduce the possibilities of getting diseases and to stay healthy for better living. You don’t have to just leave yourself starving or eat a little, you don’t have to buy expensive products and equipments, you don’t have to undergo through operations just to lose weight easily. What’s best is to change your daily routine by involving yourself into lots of activities and follow a proper eating habit. A regular exercise will help a lot to burn the fats inside your body, help the circulation and flowing of your blood and the oxygen on your veins regularly, help to keep your heart rate in normal condition. It also helps to stretch your muscles so you can move quickly and be alert, which can definitely avoid hypertension.

Make a list of your favorite food and the foods you don’t like ever since. Buy those foods and make a chart on what day you will eat your favorite food, the foods you don’t like, and the right amount. Make sure that you would fill up the chart with most of your disliked foods than the number of days eating your favorite. Gradually stop smoking and drinking alcohols too. As much as possible, complete eight to ten hours of sleep everyday and take multivitamins for extra protection.
