You read that right. You can lose weight more quickly just by taking vitamins and minerals. Please do not take this as an excuse to get rid of your diet or a reason for ceasing to exercise. Both are still needed. Vitamins and minerals can help you lose weight, but you still have to do your share.
Which Vitamins Are You Best Friends?
Here are a couple of vitamins which you could add to your diet in order to improve the results of your weight loss plan.
Choline
Strictly speaking, choline is not actually a vitamin but we’ll count it all the same since it’s part of the Vitamin B family. Choline is produced in your liver and improves your body’s fat metabolism. Without sufficient choline levels, more fat will end up stored in your liver, and that is not a good thing for many other reasons besides reduced weight loss.
Peanuts, cucumber, beef liver, and cauliflower are all excellent sources for choline.
Inositol
Consider this as a twin of choline as it’s also a part of the Vitamin B family and produced by your body. Inositol shares the same functions of choline as well. Likewise, it is not, strictly speaking, classified as a vitamin.
Increase intake of citrus fruits, beef liver, and soy to improve your inositol levels.
Vitamin C
The most famous vitamin of all is good for a lot of things and that includes improving your weight loss rate. How does it help? Simple: vitamin C helps your body convert glucose or blood sugar into energy. To increase your body’s Vitamin C levels, eat more of cabbage, green peppers, oranges, broccoli, and strawberries.
Vitamin B6
Here’s another vitamin that improves your body’s metabolism. To ensure that your diet includes a sufficient amount of Vitamin B6, eat more of molasses, bananas, and mackerel. Exchanging white rice for brown will not just increase your vitamin B6 levels but also make you feel full more quickly and without consuming as much.
Chromium
Firstly, chromium helps in processing carbohydrates – those deadly, weight-gaining carbs that you consume when you indulge in your favorite sweets, fast food burgers, and junk food. Another way that chromium helps is its ability to reduce hunger pangs. That’s probably why studies reveal how diets tend to be more effective when chromium levels are sufficiently high. With lesser hunger pangs, there are more chances that you’d stick to your diet till the very end.
Calcium
Everyone probably knows that calcium is good for the body, strengthening bones and teeth, and reducing chances for incurring degenerative diseases like rickets and osteoporosis. What few are, unaware, however, is that calcium is also capable of reducing the risk of obesity. So no matter how old you are, it’s never too late to drink your required dosage of milk daily!
